This is a really cute idea i saw from one of my children s teachers last year and i thought i d make my own version. Next is a survey the room parent can give the teacher to fill out and then pass along to parents or just use as a reference for buying group gifts through the year. Recruit other parents to help in the duty of room parents e g start a telephone chain or maintain an email database. The teachers may have other ideas or expectations to take in account when planning your celebration.

You will be invited to attend an orientation meeting at the beginning of the school year where you will receive an overview of the room parent role. This can vary widely from class to class teacher to teacher and sometimes even district to district. At most schools the class parent organizes a group gift for teacher appreciation week as well as an end of year gift. So you survived back to school and you have a few class parties under your belt.

Head room parents please contact your teacher as soon as possible to discuss each of the three parties you are responsible for organizing. A room parent s main task is to facilitate communication between other parents and the teacher the school parent group and occasionally school administration.
